Downtown Lunenburg is a tourist’s destination for shopping, dining, history, anything pertaining to sailing, and photography in southeastern Nova Scotia.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of tourists and traffic in summer is a community that is still actively attached to its sailing roots. Sail makers and dory shops will remind you that this is far more than a tourist destination.
There are so many restaurants to eat at here, but I highly recommend The Knot Pub. It’s a favourite of the locals, as the pub food is superb, not very expensive and there’s a great selection of Nova Scotian beer on tap, from the well-known names to the smaller micro-breweries.
Lunenburg Nova Scotia
Not far from Lunenburg is Blue Rocks. It’s a fantasic area for the photographer. Check tide tables, though, as low tide and high tide can make the area look very different.
