Shelburne Waterfront

<——— Swipe to move along the waterfront.

A number of historic movies, including The Scarlet Letter, have been filmed in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, and one look at the buildings along the waterfront make it very clear why. The influx of Loyalists during the American Revolution once made this the 4th largest city in North America; while that prosperity didn’t last, the Loyalists left their mark and one can walk down Dock Street and imagine times past.

The M’kMaq have known of this harbour since before Europeans set foot here. As one of the best natural harbours in the world, it still provides a living to fishing and shipbuilding industries as well as providing tourists with a wonderful place to explore.
